Hello and welcome
I am a co-founder of India Together and one of the lead editors of this publication. I believe that an original purpose of journalism is to cover society in proportion to its many realities and provide information to citizens so that they may be free and self-governing.
Some of my recent writing has been through editorials that I jointly pen with Ashwin Mahesh, friend, co-founder and fellow lead editor. You'll find these here. I also interview leaders in civil society from time to time and pursue a separate interest in radio broadcasting. You'll find my radio productions here.
Along with Meera K, I am co-founder and editor at Citizen Matters, a local news print and online magazine for Bangalore. I am Managing Director at Oorvani Media, the startup firm that publishes Citizen Matters. My articles in Citizen Matters are archived here.
Whenever I am able to find the time, I give guest lectures and seminars on journalism and online media for post-graduate students. I have taught at the Sarojini Naidu School at the University of Hyderabad and the Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media, Bangalore.
Prior to 2008, I have undertaken select consulting projects in the technology/development sphere from time to time. I helped conduct India's first ever industry study of Wi-Fi technology, it's opportunities and challenges, with Tonse Telecom, a Bangalore-based research and analysis firm. The 60-page report was released in February 2007.
During 2005-6, I consulted with Cornell University's Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise on online journalism for Base of the Pyramid (BOP) projects. During 2003, I jointly led the development of a municipal services forms and publications system for the Bangalore City Corporation.
